The Filipino Curriculum in Keys is designed to help children learn the Filipino language and its literature, and ultimately develop an appreciation for it. Children are introduced to Filipino poems, songs, riddles, sayings, stories, news articles, and short essays, which are then used to anchor lessons on balarila and talasalitaan. The Filipino literacy program provides a balance of opportunities to explore reading, writing and speaking in the language both independently and with teacher-guidance.
Our Fridays are set as Bibong Biyernes, children and adults in campus are expected to communicate in Filipino as much as possible. A year-long home-school collaboration through the Filipino Home Reading program is also implemented to help children grow in their love for reading Filipino literature.
